Elle se con\u00e7oit.<\/p>\n<p>C&rsquo;est la diff\u00e9rence entre les routines qui tiennent et celles qui s&rsquo;effondrent au bout de quelques jours. Quand une routine \u00e9choue, on accuse en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral son manque de volont\u00e9. Le vrai responsable est presque toujours ailleurs : la routine \u00e9tait mal con\u00e7ue d\u00e8s le d\u00e9part.<\/p>\n<h2>Pourquoi la plupart des routines \u00e9chouent<\/h2>\n<p>Avant de construire, il faut comprendre pourquoi tant de tentatives ne survivent pas \u00e0 la premi\u00e8re semaine.<\/p>\n<h3>Trop ambitieuses d\u00e8s le d\u00e9part<\/h3>\n<p>La plupart des routines naissent un jour de grande \u00e9nergie. On planifie la version id\u00e9ale : lever t\u00f4t, sport, lecture, \u00e9criture, m\u00e9ditation. Tout, en m\u00eame temps.<\/p>\n<p>Cette routine est faite pour un jour parfait. Le probl\u00e8me, c&rsquo;est qu&rsquo;il y a tr\u00e8s peu de jours parfaits. D\u00e8s le premier jour ordinaire, l&rsquo;\u00e9difice est trop lourd pour tenir.<\/p>\n<h3>Construites sur la motivation<\/h3>\n<p>L&rsquo;autre erreur est plus discr\u00e8te : on compte sur la motivation pour ex\u00e9cuter la routine.<\/p>\n<p>Or la motivation est instable. Elle est forte le jour o\u00f9 on d\u00e9cide, faible le mardi suivant, absente certains matins. Une routine qui a besoin de motivation pour fonctionner est une routine qui s&rsquo;arr\u00eate d\u00e8s que la motivation baisse \u2014 c&rsquo;est-\u00e0-dire tr\u00e8s vite.<\/p>\n<h2>Ce qu&rsquo;est vraiment une routine efficace<\/h2>\n<p>Dans mon cadre de travail, la continuit\u00e9 est le deuxi\u00e8me pilier : transformer l&rsquo;intention en syst\u00e8me \u2014 des habitudes, des routines, une structure qui ne d\u00e9pend pas de la motivation.<\/p>\n<p>Une routine efficace n&rsquo;est donc pas un exercice de discipline h\u00e9ro\u00efque. C&rsquo;est un syst\u00e8me con\u00e7u pour rendre l&rsquo;action plus probable que l&rsquo;inaction, m\u00eame un mauvais jour. Le bon crit\u00e8re d&rsquo;une routine n&rsquo;est pas \u00ab est-elle impressionnante \u00bb, mais \u00ab tient-elle quand je n&rsquo;ai pas envie \u00bb.<\/p>\n<h2>Ce que la gestion de projet m&rsquo;a appris sur les routines<\/h2>\n<p>J&rsquo;ai pass\u00e9 plusieurs ann\u00e9es chez IBM en gestion de projet, puis j&rsquo;ai dirig\u00e9 la mise en \u0153uvre de programmes sur le terrain \u2014 avec Enactus et la Fondation OCP, puis avec AMIDEAST et la Fondation OCP, dans le sud du Maroc.<\/p>\n<p>Ces exp\u00e9riences m&rsquo;ont appris une chose simple : ce qui n&rsquo;est pas instrument\u00e9 ne tient pas. Un programme avec une bonne intention mais sans rythme de suivi d\u00e9rive. Un programme avec une structure d&rsquo;ex\u00e9cution claire \u2014 un rythme d\u00e9fini, des responsabilit\u00e9s pr\u00e9cises, des tableaux de bord qui rendent le progr\u00e8s visible \u2014 avance, m\u00eame les semaines difficiles.<\/p>\n<p>Une journ\u00e9e n&rsquo;est pas si diff\u00e9rente d&rsquo;un projet. Si vous traitez votre routine comme un syst\u00e8me \u00e0 concevoir, plut\u00f4t que comme un effort \u00e0 fournir, vous obtenez le m\u00eame r\u00e9sultat : quelque chose qui tient sans d\u00e9pendre de votre humeur.<\/p>\n<h2>Cinq \u00e9tapes pour construire une routine qui tient<\/h2>\n<p>Voici la d\u00e9marche que j&rsquo;utilise. Elle est simple \u00e0 lire. Le travail est dans la sobri\u00e9t\u00e9.<\/p>\n<h3>R\u00e9duire \u00e0 une action-ancre<\/h3>\n<p>Ne commencez pas par cinq habitudes. Commencez par une seule \u2014 la plus petite action qui, r\u00e9p\u00e9t\u00e9e, ferait une vraie diff\u00e9rence. Une page \u00e9crite. Dix minutes de marche. Une t\u00e2che prioritaire avant tout le reste.<\/p>\n<p>Cette action-ancre est le c\u0153ur de la routine. Tout le reste viendra plus tard, ou ne viendra pas. Ce n&rsquo;est pas grave.<\/p>\n<h3>Fixer un rythme r\u00e9aliste<\/h3>\n<p>Choisissez une fr\u00e9quence que vous pouvez tenir m\u00eame dans une semaine charg\u00e9e. Pas la fr\u00e9quence qui vous impressionne \u2014 celle que vous ne raterez pas.<\/p>\n<p>Il vaut mieux une routine modeste tenue chaque jour qu&rsquo;une routine ambitieuse tenue trois jours puis abandonn\u00e9e. La r\u00e9gularit\u00e9 bat l&rsquo;intensit\u00e9 sur la dur\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<h3>L&rsquo;attacher \u00e0 un d\u00e9clencheur existant<\/h3>\n<p>Une routine flottante, sans moment fixe, se fait oublier. Accrochez votre action-ancre \u00e0 quelque chose que vous faites d\u00e9j\u00e0 sans y penser : apr\u00e8s le caf\u00e9 du matin, avant d&rsquo;ouvrir l&rsquo;ordinateur, juste apr\u00e8s le d\u00e9jeuner.<\/p>\n<p>Le d\u00e9clencheur fait le travail de m\u00e9moire \u00e0 votre place. Vous n&rsquo;avez plus \u00e0 d\u00e9cider quand agir \u2014 le moment est d\u00e9j\u00e0 d\u00e9cid\u00e9.<\/p>\n<h3>Rendre le suivi visible<\/h3>\n<p>Ce qui reste dans la t\u00eate s&rsquo;oublie. Ce qui est visible se tient. C&rsquo;est le principe du tableau de bord, appliqu\u00e9 \u00e0 une personne.<\/p>\n<p>Une simple case \u00e0 cocher, un carnet, une trace que vous voyez chaque jour. Le but n&rsquo;est pas de vous noter. C&rsquo;est de rendre le progr\u00e8s \u2014 ou son absence \u2014 impossible \u00e0 ignorer.<\/p>\n<h3>Concevoir une version \u00ab mauvais jour \u00bb<\/h3>\n<p>C&rsquo;est l&rsquo;\u00e9tape que presque tout le monde saute. D\u00e9finissez \u00e0 l&rsquo;avance la version minimale de votre routine : celle que vous pouvez faire m\u00eame quand tout va mal.<\/p>\n<p>Si l&rsquo;action-ancre est \u00ab \u00e9crire une page \u00bb, la version mauvais jour est \u00ab \u00e9crire trois phrases \u00bb. L&rsquo;objectif n&rsquo;est pas la performance ce jour-l\u00e0. C&rsquo;est de ne pas casser la cha\u00eene. Une routine qui survit aux mauvais jours survit \u00e0 long terme.<\/p>\n<h2>Le test : survit-elle \u00e0 une semaine ordinaire ?<\/h2>\n<p>Voici un test honn\u00eate. Prenez votre routine et imaginez une semaine ordinaire \u2014 pas id\u00e9ale, pas catastrophique. Une semaine normale, avec ses impr\u00e9vus habituels.<\/p>\n<p>Y trouve-t-elle une place concr\u00e8te et r\u00e9p\u00e9table ? Si oui, vous avez un syst\u00e8me. Si elle n&rsquo;y survit qu&rsquo;\u00e0 condition que tout aille bien, elle est encore trop lourde. Revenez \u00e0 l&rsquo;action-ancre et r\u00e9duisez encore.<\/p>\n<h2>Et ensuite ?<\/h2>\n<p>Une routine efficace est une intention devenue syst\u00e8me. Plut\u00f4t que de viser un chiffre pr\u00e9cis, concentrez-vous sur la r\u00e9gularit\u00e9 : une action simple, attach\u00e9e \u00e0 un d\u00e9clencheur fixe, demande de moins en moins d&rsquo;effort \u00e0 mesure qu&rsquo;elle se r\u00e9p\u00e8te.<\/p>\n<h3>Que faire quand je casse ma routine plusieurs jours de suite ?<\/h3>\n<p>Reprenez par la version \u00ab mauvais jour \u00bb, pas par la version compl\u00e8te. L&rsquo;erreur la plus courante est de vouloir \u00ab rattraper \u00bb en faisant plus \u2014 ce qui rend la reprise plus difficile. Reprendre petit est plus efficace que reprendre fort.<\/p>\n<h3>Vaut-il mieux une routine du matin ou du soir ?<\/h3>\n<p>Celle que vous pouvez tenir. Le matin offre souvent moins d&rsquo;impr\u00e9vus, mais une routine du soir bien attach\u00e9e \u00e0 un d\u00e9clencheur fonctionne aussi.
