Every form filled online, every service signed up for, and every purchase made leaves a trace. Many of those traces end up with data brokers, companies that collect personal information such as names, addresses, phone numbers, and work history, then compile it into profiles available to anyone willing to pay. Most people do not know these profiles exist.

Optery is a privacy service that finds your personal information on data broker sites and submits removal requests on your behalf. It scans a large number of broker sites, shows where your information appears, sends opt-out requests, and monitors for re-listing over time. A free scan is available.

The connection to Continuity is protecting a professional presence over time. The Method treats a credible presence as something maintained, not achieved once. Managing what information is publicly tied to your name is part of that maintenance.

What Optery Does Differently

The main difference is automation at scale. Submitting removal requests manually is possible, but each broker has its own process, and there are many of them. Optery handles the requests and repeats them when brokers relist data.

The second difference is visibility. Reports show which brokers held your information, which removals are complete, and which are pending, with evidence, so you can see progress rather than trust that something is happening.

The Honest Part

Data removal is an ongoing process, not a permanent fix. Brokers regularly relist information, so continuous monitoring matters.

Optery’s coverage is strongest for data brokers operating in the United States. People based elsewhere should check which brokers are covered before subscribing. Check Optery’s site for current plans.
